PURCHASE & Eligibility Requirements
Handgun
- Tennessee resident
- A valid driver's license with address matching two forms of proof of residence
- Carry permit, if applicable
- Ability to pass a background check, which will be provided during the purchase process
- Minimum age requirements: 21 years old
Long Gun
- A valid driver’s license from the issuing state with address matching two forms of proof of residence
- Legally able to possess the rifle/shotgun in your home state
- Ability to pass a background check, which will be provided during the purchase process
- Minimum age requirements: 18 years old
Legal Immigrant
- Possess a Tennessee driver’s license with address matching two forms of proof of residence
- Green card
- Carry permit, if applicable
- Three months of the most recent utility bills to serve as proof of residence
- Ability to pass a background check, which will be provided during the purchase process
Military not from Tennessee (Handgun and Long Gun)
- Valid form of military ID
- Valid driver’s license from issuing state
- Copy of your permanent orders basing you in Tennessee
- Ability to pass a background check, which will be provided during the purchase process
Disqualifications
- Any convicted felony
- Misdemeanor domestic violence
- Any misdemeanor where a judge could sentence you to more than a year in jail, even if you received probation
